The CluePad Team
Ava Howard
Project Manager
Ava is an educator and plant physiological ecologist. She is a faculty member at Western Oregon University where she teaches introductory and advanced undergraduate courses in general biology, botany and ecology. She earned her doctorate from the University of Georgia where she studied the occurrence and regulation of nighttime water loss from plants. Along the way she developed skills in project architecture and management.
When not working for Western Oregon students or spending time with her husband and two children, she devotes time to managing the CluePad team.
Stephen Howard
Director of Product Development
Stephen is an entrepreneur of 10 years who has spent most of his career creating web software for non-technical users, with a focus on conceptual consistency and intelligent approaches to feature discovery. His experience as a developer covers all levels of the web application stack from interface design and interactivity to application development to database administration and server management.
A graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Stephen’s past lives include stints as a competitive ballroom dancer and as a choral tenor. He has a life-long interest in architecture and sustainability, and lives with his wife, two children and two cats in the Wilammette Valley in Oregon.
Shannon Wilcox
Creative Director
Shannon has developed visual communications for corporate and non-profit organizations during the past 15 year. A graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography, he began his career as a photographer, though quickly transitioned into using pictures and graphics to express ideas. Following a four year break from full-time graphic design to work with inner-city students, he moved to the Pacific Northwest and started his own creative studio. He focuses primarily on website design and user interface for the CluePad website.
Shannon enjoys being a first-time dad as he enjoys hanging with his little guy and wife. During all too brief outdoor moments, he backpacks, camps, hikes, snowboards and surfs.
